Buen Camino, Gideon. Thank you. I walked the Way for 47 days in 2014, and still I can't quite get the words right. It helped so much to hear yours, to be transported back for a moment or two. I was fundamentally rearranged by the experience... by the people most of all. But also by what magic bewitched us-- which was the gritty, messy, most sacred kind. Anyway, thank you again.
How amazing that you did this Gideon. What an experience to remember forever. You painted such a beautiful picture of the end of the trail, I laughed when you described to two girls finishing and taking photos of themselves for social media 😅
Graçias Gideon, this is a beautiful piece of writing that is so much more than black and white on my screen. Thank you for sharing your heart's, your mind's, your body's experience of the Camino so profoundly but simply.
And a hymn just popped into my head after reading it, "Dear Lord and Father of mankind, forgive our foolish ways". It's another heartfelt expression of who we are and what we're searching or longing for.
The Camino is something I’ve wanted to walk for many years - the feedback from friends and other folk has always been so positive. Now I can no longer contemplate walking it your reflections, in a most poignant way, have brought the imagined experience very much alive. Thank you, Gideon. Your writing brings me peace, joy and always a deep sense of gratitude.

"There’s nothing inherently sacred about The Way.
It’s holy because there are people on it,
struggling through their journey, doing their bit
to help each other along the road."

Thank you 🙏🏻🤗
One of my favourite hymns, Bev. 'Drop thy still dews of quietness, till all our strivings cease.' Thank you for reading!
If only we'd learn it! I'm not still often enough and strive far too much!
This line " there’s no point getting anywhere
if you get there alone." Thank you for sharing your refections with us💓
